Die dritte Spielgeneration (advance generation) besteht aus fünf Videospielen für den Gameboy Advance und ist zusammen mit der vierten Spielgeneration die bislang editionsreichste Generation. Pokémon Feuerrot und Blattgrün sind Remakes der Roten und Grünen Edition, Pokémon Smaragd ist die Zusatzedition zu Pokémon Rubin und Saphir. Die Generation spielt in den Regionen Hoenn und Kanto.

Besonderes

In Pokémon Smaragd sind Team Aqua und Team Magma dem Spieler feindlich gesinnt, anders als vorher je nur eines der Teams. Noch dazu gibt es kleine Änderungen in der Landschaft und an manchen Gebäuden. In Feuerrot und Blattgrün kamen neun Sevii Eilande dazu, die man im regulären Spielverlauf und durch Sondertickets betreten kann.

Region

Die 3. Generation der Pokémon spielt in Hoenn, bzw. in Feuerrot und Blattgrün in Kanto. Zusätzlich zu den Pokémon der 1. Generation und 2. Generation enthält sie die Pokémon der Nummern 252-386.
