Die Pokéball-Replika (Poké Ball replica) ist eine Serie von hochwertigen Modellen, die seit dem 25. Pokémon-Jubiläum 2021 vermarktet werden. Die Produktreihe stellt originalgetreue Modellbauten von unterschiedlichen Pokébällen dar. Die Modelle werden von The Wand Company^⁠(en) hergestellt.

Die Modell-Reihe umfasst bisher 14 Ball-Arten, die ursprünglich in den Videospielen eingeführt wurden.^[1]

Vermarktung und Veröffentlichung

Die Pokéball-Replika wurden erstmals am 30. Oktober 2020 angekündigt, an dessen Tag wurde auch die Vorbestellung geöffnet. Zuerst wurde nur der Pokéball am 25. Pokémon-Jubiläum veröffentlicht. Informationen, ob weitere Bälle folgen würden, gab es lange Zeit nie, bis der Release eines Meisterballs zwei Tage vor dem Jubiläum angekündigt wurde im April veröffentlicht zu werden. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt folgte bis zum heutigen Tage die Veröffentlichung weiterer Ball-Arten.

Da es schon viele solcher Fälle gab, gibt The Wand Company die eindeutige Warnung raus, dass die Bälle nicht zum werfen gedacht sind.

Sonderfall: Meisterball

Unter allen Bällen war der Meisterball ein Sonderfall. Dieser war limitierter und wurde ausschließlich über das britische Pokémon Center verkauft, wo man ihn Zeit für Zeit auch heute noch finden kann.^[2]

In den USA wurde der Meisterball nur für sehr kurze Zeit mit 5.000 Exemplaren verkauft, was eben diese Meisterbälle zu großen Sammlerstücken macht. In anderen Ländern wurde der Meisterball nie verkauft.

Inhaltliche Informationen

Die Bälle sind hochwertig und handgefertigt, was sie auf einen Verkaufspreis von 120 Euro bringt. Sie werden gemeinsam mit einem ebenfalls hochwertigen Podest verkauft, auf welchem man den Pokéball stellen kann oder ihn wie in einer Schatulle aufbewahren kann. Bei jedem Podest ist auch ein polierter Edelstahlring dabei, damit der Pokéball präsentiert werden kann.

Die Schalen sind mit besonderem Metall-Lack bemalt, während vereinzelte Deko-Objekte des Balls (wie das Netz des Netzballs) aus mattem Plastik bestehen.

Jeder Pokéball besitzt einen Berührungspunkt am Knopf, der durch Näheerkennungstechnologie leuchtet, sobald der Pokéball eine Bewegung in unmittelbarer Nähe des Sensors wahrnimmt. Berührt man den Druckpunkt, leuchtet es intensiver. Durch Drücken der Taste wird eine Pokémon-fangende Beleuchtungssequenz gestartet. Ein Doppelklick darauf ändert die Lichtfarbe von Weiß auf Rot und dann auf Grün. Die Lichter in der Schatulle leuchten automatisch auf, wenn sie geöffnet wird, und tauchen den Pokéball in ein sanftes Leuchten. Über das Namensschild auf der Vorderseite des Podestes, kann durch eine Berührungseingabe die Farbe geändert werden.

Sie werden über viele verschiedene Handlungsketten verkauft, darunter auch die Pokémon Center. Die Bälle wiegen circa 300 Gramm und sind 7,5 cm groß, welches laut Hersteller die Angaben sind, die The Pokémon Company als Maßstab der „Original“-Bälle angegeben hat.
Es sind immer 3 AAA-Batterien enthalten, mit welchen der Pokéball und sein Gehäuse angetrieben werden.

Jeder Pokéball ist mit einem Authentifizierungshologramm eindeutig nummeriert und offiziell von The Pokémon Company International lizenziert.
