Der Pokémaniac ist eine Trainerklasse, die seit der ersten Generation existiert. Sie sind junge Männer, die sich zwar nicht auf einen Typen spezialisiert haben, dafür aber Pokémon der Ei-Gruppe Monster einsetzen. Sie sind recht stark und in der Mitte der Storyverläufe angesiedelt.

Bill ist ein sehr bekannter Pokémaniac und auch der Junge in Anemonia City, der dem Spieler sein Pottrott schenkt.
